AUC Screens is a forum for showcasing AUC moving image work on a (bi-)annual basis. For the first iteration of the event, a handful of current AUC student short films from GIE, Film Lab and Documentary courses will be screened, along with an independent film project.
To join the event, register here.
The post-screening Q&A will take place with the filmmakers and will be led by AUC alumni who are currently involved in diverse forms of film production (and related milieus) in the Netherlands. The alumni will then be invited to open up the Q&A to questions regarding their own trajectories with insights into their fields/industries, also in terms of funding possibilities, local collective initiatives, festivals and distribution, and just some down-to-earth advice.
The Spring 2025 guest alumni are:
Sebastián Vásquez Cipriani (2001, Lima)
A visual artist currently enrolled at the Sandberg Institute Design Department. He has organised screenings in theatres such as Kriterion, Filmhuis Cavia and Lab111, and has worked as Q&A producer for the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA).
Mathilde Médard (1996, Châtenay-Malabry)
A producer and writer working in film & animation, who currently works at Submarine. She co-wrote the film Hotel Mokum (2024).
Yannesh Meijman (1995, Amsterdam)
A filmmaker, mediamaker, and organizer, exploring spatial justice through films, installations, and social spaces. His debut documentary Hotel Mokum, premiered at IDFA ’23 and had a Dutch cinema release. Besides his artistic work, he works as a freelance editor, including for the film distributor Gusto Entertainment.
AUC Screens is convened by ACC lecturers Christina Buckley and Tina Bastajian, with organizational support from Film Lab lecturer John Loughlin and promotional support provided by the Alumni Association (AUCAA) and Student Services.
